For Planners & Event Professionals

Arrive prepared. Do your best work.

Practical orientation for caterers, DJs, photographers, florists, rental teams, planners, and service staff working at The Shed.

Review Arrival & Load-In
Before You Arrive

One shared plan keeps the day moving.

This page gives every team the same general orientation. The host's signed agreement, final proposal, and event timeline control when a specific event includes different access, spaces, pieces, or responsibilities.

Do not assume a generic load-in time. Confirm your arrival window and point of contact with the host or planner before the event. Marie can answer property questions, but the planner coordinates the vendor timeline and live event.
Tables and place settings being prepared inside The Shed before an event
Confirm what arrives with you and what The Shed has already prepared.
01

Know the event plan.

Confirm the date, access window, guest count, working areas, service times, and departure expectations supplied by the host or planner.

02

Know your lead contact.

The host or planner coordinates the vendor team. Exchange mobile numbers and confirm who can make live timeline decisions.

03

Know your scope.

The event proposal identifies what The Shed supplies and pre-sets. Confirm everything else your team must bring, operate, and remove.

Arrival & Load-In

Use the short approach.

The Shed at Papa's Creek
210 Thomas Rd
Lavonia, GA 30553
  1. From Highway 17, turn onto North Fairview Road.
  2. Turn from North Fairview Road onto Thomas Road.
  3. Continue approximately 250 yards on the unpaved portion.
  4. Look for the large sawblade sign marked The Shed at Papa's Creek, 210.
Avoid the Corbett Chappelear Road approach. Some navigation apps use the opposite end of Thomas Road. That approach includes about 1.5 miles of rough dirt road that can become muddy and is a poor choice for loaded vehicles.
Vehicle Access

Confirm the unload point first.

The main event room is single-level, with double doors opening to a covered 40-by-12-foot porch. The planner or Marie will confirm the appropriate arrival window, unloading point, and where vendor vehicles should move afterward.

Parking

On-site and event-specific.

The Shed does not host overlapping events or use shared event parking. Follow the parking and vehicle instructions supplied for the event rather than choosing a staging area on arrival.

Working Farm

Stay within event areas.

The terraces and creek are available according to the event plan. Pastures are not vendor access routes, and farm animals are not approachable.

Working Roles

Clear before, during, and after.

Before

The Shed prepares its scope.

The Shed pre-sets the contracted tables, chairs, linens, decor, ceremony pieces, and venue areas named in the proposal. Outside vendors prepare and install their own scope.

During

The planner directs the event.

The planner coordinates the vendor team and timeline. Caterers and service staff handle live bussing, ongoing trash, and spills. The Shed remains available for urgent property needs.

After

Everyone clears their own work.

Outside vendors remove their equipment and supplied pieces as agreed. The Shed gathers its pieces, launders its linens, removes event trash, and restores the contracted venue spaces.

Key Property Policies

Protect the place and the event.

If your work touches one of these areas, confirm the event-specific plan before arrival.

Alcohol

Allowed but not provided. A licensed bartender and event liability insurance are required.

Sound

Outdoor sound moves to moderate levels by midnight in consideration of nearby homes and local requirements.

Smoking

The building and grounds are smoke-free.

Flame & Fire

Candles need protective surfaces. Sparklers, fireworks, fire pits, and grilling require advance coordination and may pause during high fire danger.

Pets

Service animals are welcome and leashed. Any ceremony pet must be approved in advance.

Creek & Farm

Water safety remains the renter's responsibility. Stay out of pastures and do not approach the animals.
